Raised in a loving family but shaped by childhood sexual abuse, addiction, and a series of destructive relationships, a young woman becomes convinced she will not live past thirty. After a near-fatal overdose and the collapse of a coercive relationship with her swimming coach, she abandons a scholarship and sets off on a years-long journey across continents, searching for anything that might make her feel alive.

From homelessness in Italy and abusive marriages to polyamorous communities, BDSM dungeons, and war zones across Africa and the Middle East, she pursues intimacy, adventure, and oblivion with equal determination. What begins as an escape from pain gradually transforms into a search for healing. As she confronts the wounds of her past, survives civil conflict, and witnesses both the brutality and resilience of humanity, she is forced to reconsider the beliefs that have governed her life: that love must be earned through sacrifice, that pleasure and danger are inseparable, and that survival is not the same thing as living.

Blending dark humour, sexual candour, and unflinching honesty, THE COPULATION CHRONICLES explores the complicated intersections of trauma, desire, identity, and recovery.

While sexuality is a central thread throughout the novel, it ultimately serves as a lens through which the narrator examines power, belonging, self-worth, and the long process of healing.

Drawing on lived experience while embracing the flexibility of fiction, THE COPULATION CHRONICLES may appeal to readers of Lidia Yuknavitch’s The Chronology of Water and Cheryl Strayed’s Wild, with the international scope and conflict-zone backdrop of works such as Amanda Lindhout’s A House in the Sky.

Bexxy Mov writes dark, intimate literary fiction that explores trauma, sexuality, addiction, power, and survival. Their debut novel, The Copulation Chronicles, draws on personal experience, emotional realism, and a raw, unflinching voice.

They hold a Master’s degree and have worked as a researcher in conflict-affected regions, experiences that inform the novel’s depiction of war, displacement, and survival. Although fictionalized, the emotional core of the story is rooted in lived experience.
